Location to file Candidate Application:
The Pecos County Water Control & Improvement District No. 1 will accept applications for the regular election to be held on May 4, 2024, for 3 positions on the board of directors. Applications can be made for the following positions for the General Election. Each position is for a four-year term. Applications accepted on behalf of the Secretary of the Board at Pecos County Water Control & Improvement District No. 1 office located at 4375 N Hwy 1053 in Fort Stockton, Texas, during regular business hours which are Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., closed at noon.

Candidate Application Filing Dates:
The application may be filed between January 17, 2024, through the deadline to file an application February 16, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. at the office of Pecos County Water Control & Improvement District No. 1. Candidate Eligibility Requirements
Director eligibility is governed by Chapter 65 special utility districts of the Water Code applicable to the type of district.
Under Chapter 65, to be eligible to run for director of a special utility district, a person must be 18 years old, a resident and citizen of Texas, and either own land subject to taxation in the district, be a user of facilities in the district, or be a qualified voter of the district.
