Base Fee Increase
July 07, 2021
The Pecos County Water Control and Improvement District #1 is moving forward with completion of requirements for the USDA note and grant to improve and increase the infrastructure of our district. When the improvements are installed, we will be able to provide good clean drinkable water to more customers.
If you own property within the water district boundaries and are interested in obtaining a tap, please go to our website (pecoscountywcid.com) to download an application. Bring the completed application to the district office. Taps will be provided on first come, first serve basis as improvements to the infrastructure are installed.
The water district board met Tuesday, May 11, 2021 to address this project and other issues. The district will need to generate increased income to repay the note. It was decided that there will be a $24.00 increase to the base fee for all customers starting with billing from July 1, 2021. This was deemed to be most likely to faise funds to repay the note without increasing the cost of water per gallon.
Our board meets the second Tuesday of each month at the Rural Community Building. The meeting begins at 7 pm. We invite all customers to our meeting to learn about this and other projects. Our next meeting is Tuesday, July 13, 2021.
Additionally, the Rural Community Building is available for rent. The cost is $100.00 per day with a $200.00 security deposit that will be returned if the building is left in good clean condition.
